Why I Love Engagement Sessions

Engagement sessions hold a special place in my heart as a photographer! They offer a unique opportunity to get to know the couple and their personalities before their big day. It’s where I learn about their dynamics and preferences, and give them a chance to practice being in front of the camera! All this ultimately translates into more meaningful and authentic photographs. Which is what we are all looking for!

A little bonus is that it also gives them a chance to test out their hair and makeup choices, ensuring they feel confident and look their best on their wedding day. I always encourage my couples to use their engagement session as an opportunity to do a trial with their makeup artist! An Engagement Session at Lake Chelan

I love that Johnny & Shawna chose to do their engagement session at Lake Chelan! I actually don’t think many people realize that you can get breathtaking photos right in the heart of downtown! We parked at Riverwalk Inn and Cafe, and took a walk through Riverwalk Park shooting along the way!

Then as the sun began to set lower in the sky, we made our way out to get a view of the water. There were a few places I wanted to stop to get some different perspectives and each one gave us such beautiful photos!! See which spot is your favorite: the bridge, on the deck, or over on the dock!
